In the past, India released new guidelines for intermediaries on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram . They required all platforms, including Facebook, Twitterand Instagram to adhere to these guidelines. This policy was released in February 2021, and social media companies who use media were granted a months to follow. The deadline will expire on this morning (25 May 2021) and not one of the platforms has met the new guidelines. Twitter, Facebook Twitter as the Instagram's related platforms are all blocked because of this.

According to reports that the if Facebook does not comply with the new policies by May 26, it could not protect the rights of intermediaries and their status. The government could also begin legal proceedings in line with the laws and regulations of India. Companies like Facebook that are situated in America have asked for a period of six months. United States of America have asked for a period of six months.
